Italian Artist Alessandro Tamponi Featured in New York Art Show

Chelsea's Agora Gallery will feature the paintings of Italian artist, Alessandro Tamponi in Sensorial Perspectives.

NEW YORK, February 04, 2012 /United States PR News/ -- Placing self-taught painter Alessandro Tamponi's work stylistically is a delightful challenge. Each piece buzzes with bustling colors and characters and yet his inspirations remain simple and modest. There's also a musicality to his work as the eyes follow the bright swaths of color and shapes that make up the characters circling the canvas — fresh and alive despite the dried acrylic. His hometown of Nuoro, Sardinia, a small town surrounded by mountains and sea, informed Tamponi's pursuit of pure expression from the beginning and continues to color the scenes we see in his work. The artist states firmly that he has chosen to remain ignorant of the fine arts on purpose to retain the earnest inspirations his environment has afforded him; nevertheless, his work conveys the "liveliness" that defines fine art. Each piece stands as forgotten memory reimagined through Tamponi's unique humor and style. Implementing his own brand of sarcasm or "humourisme," Tamponi's work remains endlessly genuine and charming.
Alessandro Tamponi currently lives and works in Nuoro, Italy.
