Tax professionals then review the tax profiles and place their bids. Once the auction timeframe expires, consumers review the tax pros' bids, credentials and ratings, and then choose a professional. Consumers upload their tax documents digitally through a PDF, scanned document or even a photograph.

Consumers do not pay for services until tax preparation is complete and they have reviewed a summary of their tax preparation results. Once satisfied, they pay for the services through PayPal. The tax preparer then electronically files the return(s).
